What we do

The friendly, specialist team at Massey's Speech-language Therapy Clinic in Auckland provides in-person and telepractice services in the following areas:

• ACTIVEating for reluctant eaters
• Adults with communication and swallowing difficulties
• Speech, language and communication support needs in children

ACTIVEating for reluctant eaters

Our ACTIVEating programme helps children who are very reluctant eaters to consume a wider variety of food. The course runs for 8 to 12 weeks and we tailor it to parents' or caregivers' goals.

Adult communication clinic

We see adults with communication difficulties following stroke, dementia, and other brain related changes. We run an aphasia group on campus. We also provide voice work (such as quality, pitch or volume).

Paediatric communication clinic

We offer neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based speech-language therapy that supports each child to thrive as their authentic self. We work with children with a variety of support needs, such as speech sounds, language, autism and other communication differences. We partner with whānau to celebrate each child’s unique ways of communicating, focusing on what’s meaningful in their everyday lives.

As a teaching clinic, our services are shaped by student placement schedules, so availability may be limited at times. During our clinic periods, we’re proud to offer a warm, collaborative space where families and student clinicians can grow and learn together.

Online therapy

Do you live outside Auckland? We may be able to offer you online speech and language therapy via video link.

Costs and payments

Fees are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.

ACTIVEating costs

• Individual or small group therapy: $35 per session (8 to 12 sessions)
• Community Service Card holders: $22 per session
• One-off food fee: $140. Fee must be paid at the start of therapy
• Dietitian consultation: $35 ($22 with Community Services Card)

Communication clinic

• Individual session (50 minutes): $35
• Community Services Card holder: $22
• Senior citizen: $18
• Aphasia group: no charge
